From the Back Cover
Having been rocked by one damaging revelation of misbehavior after another, Wall Street is in a state of crisis. Investors are disgusted by the misdeeds of a few and suspicious of the industry at large. Every firm finds its integrity open to question. Regulators are up in arms. And the industry is facing billions of dollars in costs to comply with a floodtide of new regulations.
But imagine what could happen if Wall Street firms looked back to a simpler time when a handshake was enough to seal a deal, and right and wrong were as clear as black and white. What if executives, portfolio managers, analysts, and traders decided that some things aren’t for sale? What if every major investment firm agreed to live by the principle that the client always comes first?
In words and images, Cowboy Ethics explores the life and code of the working cowboy as a source of inspiration pointing the industry to a way out of its troubles.
The book is intended as the catalyst for a movement to transform the industry – not with the carrot and stick, but from the inside out – one person, firm, and organization at a time.

Customer Reviews
Cowboy Ethics isn't just for cowboys!
I read this book and gave it as a graduation gift. Then I showed it to my horses' hoof trimmer and he had me order five more copies for him to give as gifts. The photography is beautiful and the message is one that all of us should live by. I haven't read the next book, Cowboy Values, yet but am looking forward to it too.
Cowboy Ethics
Very accurate in terms of the "cowboy" expectations of society. Truth, honesty, taking responsibility are always on the forefront. Without those characteristics you don't get far with animals or people.
Distills the Basics
Between Mr. Owen's words and Mr. Stoecklein's great photographs, one will find a great little book of distilled genius---for any industry. I've given this book as a gift to my children and clients alike. Most could learn from the "Cowboy Code" described---and most would thrive. If you're casting about for a young person, and if they like ponies and cowboys---get this book---and read it---the words are just as compelling as the photographs. There's a lot we could learn from the "simple" life of cowboys. Good stuff. Timeless wisdom----to be used.
